I have finally had some time in the studio. It's been one of those struggling times. I just haven't felt that anything has clicked. I see where some artist just can't stay out of the studio or create something or tons everyday. I decided to read a few books on creativity and guess what? I'm not the only one who does have blocks and struggles. Yay....I'm not alone. What do you do to get inspired, focused and stay on target? What inspires you?
I use to cut fabric for an online company called Over the Rainbow . It's a great place to order fabric!! The family has a very strong place in my heart. Their oldest daughter, Vanessa has been in ICU for over 20 days. She is very ill and can really use all of your prayers and good thoughts. This is a wonderful family. Laura owns Over the Rainbow and Vanessa is her daughter. If you follow the link Vanessa here, Laura tells more about Vanessa and her situation.
I have another friend who has blessed me so much! I can't even explain it all. She called me a couple of days ago to tell me she is moving to Florida for a month and then may stay there. I'm so sad. Things have been really tough for her lately and I know this is the best thing for her to do but on a selfish note, I don't want her to go. These two situations have really been weighing on me. Unfortunately, when it comes to art, I freeze up instead of expressing myself. I think today I will just paint. Spread color, get messy and thank God for all of the wonderful blessings I have. One of those blessings is my internet friends and art buddies. I appreciate you all. Your comments, emails and encouragement always make my day. It seems like my local art buddies are moving out of state!! Thank God for the internet.
I haven't been hiding, I promise. I haven't been in the studio either!! I have one and half more band-aid tins to finish, a fabric book to start for a round robin and an art journal to make so I can write down times I spend with my granddaughter and daughter. I need some inspiration. A kick in the tush to get me going. That and a housekeeper to come and clean our home. Now that would be really nice! I have been doing a bit of knitting. I'm working on a purse for myself. I find it hard to make things for me. I really enjoy making stuff for other people.
My very healthy, wonderful husband woke me up Friday morningat 1:00 with chest pains and feeling like he was going to pass out. He had me call 911 and we spent the entire day Friday in the hospital. They told him if he didn't make some changes to his diet etc. they would see him again. Thankfully they didn't find any heart damage. Any prayers would be very appreciated. He's young and my very best friend.
The girls are doing great. Jessica (our granddaughter) is growing fast! Kristy (her mom) is always a joy to be with and a terrific mother. Our middle daughter (J.J.) is coming home from St. Croix in a couple of weeks. Guess that means I need to take all of my extra "goodies" (ephemera etc.) out of her room and find a place for it. Our son is now playing Lacrosse and he loves it. So, all is well on our home front. We are greatly blessed!!
